Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 2nd September 2024 Written Episode Update: Abhira Faces Problems
The episode begins with Vidya calling Armaan and asking him to choose a Kalgi design for the wedding. Armaan, busy with a client, says he’ll call her back later. Vidya understands and ends the call. She then calls Abhira, asking her to select a Maang tika. Abhira, however, is also busy with a client and tells Vidya she’ll talk in the evening. As Vidya continues to call, Abhira becomes frustrated and explains that she’s about to head into a court hearing. After hanging up, Vidya grumbles that Abhira could have taken just two minutes to make a decision.
Later, Abhira sees that she missed 20 calls from Vidya. Feeling guilty, she calls her back. Vidya insists she check the design and finalize it right away, but Abhira explains she’s in the middle of a court session. At this moment, Awasthi, a fellow lawyer, interrupts and criticizes Abhira for not focusing on the case, suggesting she hand it over to someone else if she can’t handle it. Annoyed, Abhira cuts the call with Vidya and promises to discuss everything when she gets home.
Feeling bad for not responding earlier, Abhira tries to call Vidya again, but this time Vidya doesn’t answer. Ruhi notices Abhira’s worry and tells her it was wrong to upset Vidya. Meanwhile, Manisha and Kajal visit Vidya, urging her to finalize the design with Abhira. Frustrated, Vidya tells them to inform the designer that Abhira is too busy. Armaan arrives and quietly observes the situation. Trying to help, Ruhi offers to tell Vidya that Abhira is caught up with work and even brings Abhira some detox water.
At the same time, a woman named Kirti Singh visits Abhira. She explains that her son is getting married and she wants to create a marriage contract that prevents the bride from taking any of their property if the marriage ends. Shocked by Kirti’s request, Abhira firmly tells her that it’s wrong to deny someone their rights, especially if they’ve been mistreated. She advises Kirti to find another lawyer. However, after rejecting the client, Abhira starts to worry about how she’ll manage to pay off her loan without taking on more cases.
Meanwhile, Vidya is performing a puja when Manisha, Kajal, and Armaan come to speak to her. Vidya gets upset, telling them that it’s rude to disturb someone while they’re praying. Armaan defends Abhira, explaining that her work is as important to her as Vidya’s puja is to her. Kajal adds that they are also working hard to plan the wedding, but Vidya remains upset.
As the day winds down, Abhira sits alone, feeling sad and overwhelmed by everything that happened. Armaan joins her and offers his support, saying he knows how tired she must be. They talk about how society treats a son’s career as important, but often views a daughter-in-law’s career as just a hobby. Abhira reflects on how stressed Vidya is about the wedding and admits she’s been slow to understand the pressure.
She also shares the story of Kirti, the client who wanted the marriage contract, and how she felt it was wrong to assume all women are gold diggers. Armaan, proud of her decision to reject the case, tells her she did the right thing. They continue talking and share a hug, feeling closer after the tough day.
Meanwhile, Sanjay is reviewing files when Ruhi brings him coffee. He thanks her and comments on how good it is. Ruhi casually mentions that the staff gave him a file containing Armaan and Abhira’s marriage contract. Surprised, Sanjay says he didn’t prepare any contract. Ruhi jokes that maybe Dadi or someone else prepared it to protect the family’s property in case something goes wrong in the marriage. She leaves him to think about it.
Later, Madhav invites Abhira to have coffee with him, while Sanjay heads to speak with Dadi. Still worried about the day’s events, Abhira tells Armaan that she’s against marriage contracts, saying that relationships should be built on love, not legal agreements. Dadi agrees, saying she won’t allow a contract for Armaan and Abhira’s marriage. However, Sanjay confesses that he doesn’t fully trust Abhira and is worried she might be after their wealth. He suggests they need to protect themselves just in case.
In the precap, Dadi gives Abhira a contract and asks her to sign it. When Abhira reads the terms, she’s shocked to see it says she can’t work for a year and must have a child. Furious, she confronts Dadi, leading to a big argument.
