Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai 30th September 2024 Written Episode Update: Dadi explains why she made her decision

The episode opens with frustrated Sanjay expressing disbelief that Maasa gave Abhira a job. He wonders aloud why he spent so many years working at the firm if she would make such decisions without consulting anyone. Armaan enters, confronting Sanjay, and says, “Remember the last time you had to call a press conference just to praise Abhira? I’ve always ended in a draw whenever I faced her in court. She’s talented and hardworking, and the firm needs her. That’s why Dadi decided to give her a job.” Sanjay fires back, “Maasa didn’t even discuss this with us. She offered a job to Abhira and argued with Vidya about it. Doesn’t that seem strange to you?”

Meanwhile, Manish is instructing the servants to clean Ruhi’s room thoroughly. Swarna asks if he’s preparing for Ruhi’s arrival. He confirms, adding that he wants to call Abhira and Ruhi for the page here ceremony, and Swarna agrees. Manish says they will go to the Poddar house and bring the girls back, and Surekha likes the idea.

At the Poddar house, Ruhi knocks on Abhira’s door and compliments her cooking, bringing her some kheer to eat. Suspicious, Abhira asks why Ruhi is so kind and what she wants. Ruhi says she wants Abhira to take the job offer. She adds, “My mom was a doctor, and I’m doing jewelry design work. This is your mom’s dream—you should fulfill it.” Annoyed, Abhira responds, “I never asked for your advice, did I?”

Just then, Manish stumbles at the door, dropping his shotgun. Swarna rushes to ask if he’s okay. He sighs, saying, “This is a bad omen.” Swarna tells him not to think too much about it, but Manish says that he feels something is wrong with their daughters. Surekha advises him to call them, so he does. He speaks to Abhira and Ruhi, asking if everything is alright. Abhira reassures him that everything is fine, and Ruhi adds that Dadi has offered Abhira a job at the Poddar firm.

Manish congratulates her, saying it’s a great opportunity. Abhira thanked him, adding that she hadn’t made a decision yet. Manish tells them they plan to visit the Poddar house, and Surekha adds they will return both of them for the paper ritual. Abhira and Ruhi politely decline, which makes Manish a little curious. Abhira then jokes, saying that people at the Poddar house love doing rituals, and Ruhi agrees, making Manish laugh. They end the call, and after hanging up, Abhira scolds Ruhi for telling Manish about the job offer. Ruhi defends herself, saying Abhira should have mentioned it and encouraged her to accept the job and have some kheer.

Back at home, Swarna thinks the girls might be hiding something. Manish smiles and says they are covering for each other, and he’s happy about it.

Meanwhile, Dadi admires Abhira’s new nameplate when Vidya arrives, visibly upset. Vidya tells Dadi that she was against Armaan and Abhira’s marriage from the beginning, yet Dadi not only let it happen but also gave Abhira a job. She demands an explanation. Dadi calmly responds, “I see you as my daughter, and I offered Abhira the job for a good reason. You’re not seeing the bigger picture regarding your son and the family’s future. I can see it.” Hurt, Vidya says, “I thought of you as my mother, but it seems I was wrong. You are my mother-in-law now.”

Later, Abhira thinks about Dadi’s words when Armaan enters the room, and a piece of paper blows toward him. He picks it up and says, “Dadi must have had a reason for offering you this job.” Abhira agrees, saying she feels the same but worries if working together would benefit their relationship. Armaan reassures her, saying, “No matter what you decide, I’m with you.” As he leaves, Abhira thinks, “You say you’re with me, but you still feel so far away.”

Vidya then questions Dadi, asking why she suddenly supports Abhira so much. Dadi explains, “Armaan listens to her; he is a responsible son who will keep this family united.” Vidya argues that Rohit is capable of managing the firm. Dadi, however, shows her the files and points out, “Armaan has been winning cases while Rohit has been losing. When Rohit found out about Armaan and Ruhi, he left us, despite all the love we gave him. He shows sympathy, but Armaan is the one who stands up for us.” Vidya acknowledges Armaan’s courage and support but insists her question remains unanswered.

Dadi explains, “Abhira is talented, and if we don’t bring her on board, she could threaten our firm. If she leaves with Armaan, the Poddar firm could fall apart. At first, I doubted her capabilities, but she has shown great potential. If she gains experience, everyone will want her. She better stay here, work for us, and grow with us. This way, she will remain loyal, and Armaan will stay, supporting the family and managing the firm.” Vidya protests, saying that Sanjay has also worked hard for the firm. Dadi responds, “Sanjay is our son-in-law, not our son. A stepson is still a son, but a son-in-law will always remain an outsider. If Sanjay takes over, the Bansal family will benefit, not us. I want the Poddar legacy to continue, and Armaan is the one who can make that happen. Abhira must stay here—think about it.” Sanjay overhears this conversation and becomes angry.

Abhira considers calling Manish for advice but stops when Manisha arrives with some food, saying she wants Abhira to have it first. Charu and Kiara are also present, and Kiara encourages Abhira to join the firm. Manisha comments that now, their daughters and daughters-in-law have the freedom to pursue their careers. Charu agrees, saying she might even consider working again. Manisha encourages her, then asks Kiara if she has thought of any plans for herself. Kiara admits she hasn’t but says she will start thinking about it. Charu smiles, saying it’s important for women to be financially independent.

Meanwhile, Vidya is lost in thought, reflecting on Dadi’s words while she performs the aarti. She becomes emotional and accidentally drops the aarti plate. Armaan rushes in just in time to catch it. He looks at his mother and says, “I know you’re hurting.” Vidya walks away without a word, and Rohit enters, seeing Armaan struggling to hold back his tears.
